Виж дали наистина го търсиш там '>. Пробвай със ( препиши точно   ) :
ls -l /etc/rc.d/rc.netdevice

най-лесно ще разбереш кой файл зарежда модула със следната поредица:

cd /etc/rc.d/
fgrep tulip rc.*

ще ти изведе нещо от сорта на:
rc.modules:#/sbin/modprobe tulip
име-на-файла:ред със съвпадението

диез-а (#) след двете точки означава че реда е коментиран (не се изпълнява) а на теб ти трябват редовете които НЕ СА коментирани.

Или ще е в /etc/rc.d/rc.netdevice, или /etc/rc.d/rc.modules или този който е слагал Linux-а е проявил много фантазия '>

btw ... сега видях че в 11:24 си казал че картата ти е Cnet PR0200 PCI Ethernet Adapter ... може ама чипа й (най-малкото) е на Davikom така че си мисля че това упражнение с модулите ще ти реши проблема ... особенно щом под windows си имаш нормална връзка
